AI-Powered Recommendations

3. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services

AI Service Providers

We send your profile information, preferences, chat messages, and location data to Google to power our AI recommendations (via the Gemini API). All AI requests are routed through Cloudflare AI Gateway for monitoring and analytics. Google does not use your data submitted through the API to train its models.

Infrastructure

  • Cloudflare: Our hosting and network infrastructure provider, which may process data as it passes through their network

Email Services

  • Mailgun: For sending authentication emails and weekly recommendations

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your data only with the service providers listed above, solely to operate and improve the Service.

Legal Disclosures

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Offtime, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your Control

  • You can delete your account and all associated data through your account settings
  • When you delete your account, we remove all your personal information, chat history, and preferences
  • Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days for technical recovery purposes

Retention While Active

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

Company-Initiated Termination

If we terminate your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for data we are required to retain by law.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS
  • Secure API authentication with third-party services
  • Webhook signature verification for external integrations

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Security Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you by email as required by applicable law, and will take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact of the breach.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions

  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information. We share your personal information with Google for AI processing purposes. You may opt out of this sharing by deleting your account or contacting us; however, doing so will prevent us from providing the core Service
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

7. Location Data

We collect and use location information to:

  • Calculate distances and travel times to recommended events

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal tracking technologies:

  • Session Cookies: To keep you logged in and maintain your preferences
  • Cloudflare Analytics: For basic service monitoring and AI usage analytics

We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers. We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as there is no industry-standard interpretation of such signals.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our AI service providers and infrastructure partners are located. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

11. Changes to This Policy
